More Meaningful Gifts...Sieze A Shop !!!!!!
That's the title of a thread in the Etsy forums of a wonderful BNR that I am a part of! Being a part of MMG has meant a lot to me. When I joined the list a few months ago I had no idea that I would receive all the love and support that I have gotten from all the members! It is definitely very special and a one-of-a-kind thread! When I won the Sieze A Shop on 3/25 I had no idea that I won until I checked my email the next morning and saw that I had multiple "notification of payment' emails! I was sooo excited ( and after a dry spell in sales, it's a real pick me up!) The Sieze A Shop is a wonderful way to get your product out there for others to see it and experience it for themselves. Each week, a thread member's shop is randomly chosen to "sieze"...all the members on the thread try and make a purchase from your shop. It helps sellers build up their confidence as a business owner in saying, "yes, I can actually sell my stuff!, lol!" But it's not just about selling your product...these folks offer so much support and helpful information to help you grow as a seller and as an individual. I feel so blessed to be a part of it! Everyone is sooo friendly, warm, and welcoming!! Check it out and see what we're all about!

Saying Goodbye To 'Ol Hickory...
'Ol Hickory has been with our family since my husband and I received it as a wedding gift when we got married 11 years ago. The steaks, fish, chicken, sausages and other goodies that were cooked on this grill were all memorable. I've grilled in the rain, the cold and through each time 'Ol Hickory proved to stand to the challenge and grilled to perfection the meats that were placed on it without any complaints. As time passed, 'Ol Hickory became weathered from rust and being baked in the blazing Texas sun. Let's face it folks: a grill can only take so much. Yesterday our family was introduced to it's newer member: "Hickory II"!! But would it stand the test of grilling 10 pounds of chicken for a family of seven? Take a look at the pictures and see for yourself...I think that you'll be just as excited as we were!
Ooooh Weeee!!! Gotta love that Texas barbeque baby!!!!

A Bit :E:D:G:Y:
Ok, here is my latest design.."The Jester"!! It's a bit edgier than my other designs which allows me to transition to the "couture" part of Yarncoture. It was handknitted in an alternating seed stitch design, and then finished off with crocheted jester-like curls on the border. It's very versatile...can be worn with the curls facing up or down and depending on how it's worn, it can definitely be a showstopper accessory. It's finished off with some very nice tangerine red vintage buttons that I bought off Ebay. Depending on the feedback that I get from this piece, I will hopefully introduce an entire line of "The Jester" in the future!

I Did It!!!
I sent my application in the mail today for my first real in-the-flesh craft fair! I am sooo nervous! If I'm approved Yarncoture will be exhibiting its wares in the Dallas area on May 2! I have to tell you that I am very nervous because it's one thing to be selling things on line....you don't get to see people's reactions to your products unless they email you and tell you that they like them. It's another thing when you see people's reactions first hand....the frowns...the smiles... it can be nerve-wrecking and I think that will be a big challenge for me to sit there and not be sad if someone disapproves of my work (I'm very sensitive). I am totally flattered that I was even invited to attend which leads me to think that there may be some people who actually will dig my designs! I'll keep you posted on the craft fair...the time, location, etc....at this point I am just thrilled!
